As we are all aware, to mark 60 years of The Queen's reign, Diamond Jubilee celebrations will take place all over the country in June. Her coronation was celebrated in Bridge of Allan 60 years ago with street parties and bunting galore.
At the BofA Events Association, we have planned a calendar of events around the national Jubilee celebrations which should prove very exciting for the village. This is a perfect opportunity for all residents from Bridge of Allan and beyond to come together and celebrate with a fond look back over the past 60 years. More details will be released very soon.
The next few years will prove to vital in shaping the future of Bridge of Allan. So much is changing and at a rapid pace, it would be too easy for the many stories and memories to disappear forever. I think I speak for everyone when I say, we must not let this happen. With that in mind, we have decided to record the history of Bridge of Allan life over the past 60 years.
To achieve this, we need your help! Do you have any old photographs of your days in Bridge of Allan? Maybe you have a story that needs to be told? Can you remember how the village used to look? We need to hear from you! The finished timeline, will go on display in June and will be available for all to see.
